My friend Vincent was in town, and we went out to the coast to explore and camp near the ocean. In addition to a wonderful hike through forest, across dunes, around a lake, and along the coast, we built a fantastic fire with hand gathered wood.

Camping up on the Mogollon Rim in March of 2009. Too early for the campgrounds to be open, I found a clearing off the side of some dirt road and set up there. The snow had melted just enough to allow me to hike along the edge of the rim.
